(I'd knew you'd like that title, Laura :-) I've been trying to get better deals at the grocery store and, in my attempts, have been clipping coupons like my life depended on it. I don't think I did too bad today at Kroger, for a newb.
My receipt says that my total savings is $28.99. I paid $9.11 out of pocket and got:
Gushers--2 boxes
Simply Orange with Mango
Dannon Yogurt La Creme 4-pk
Yo-Plus Yogurt 4-pk
Grands bisquits--8 cans
Multi-grain Cheerios--2 boxes
Colgate Maxfresh toothpaste
Go me..it's my birthday..not really..but go any way..
(BTW, seriously Laura, thanks for the help in figuring out the tricks!)

What was the trick? you didn't explain where the food came from or why you poseted it. Are you a coupon finatic? I've heard some crazy stories about how much money you can save.
I love Kroger. I used to only shop at Wal mart, until I figured out that I was stupid. Last time I shopped at Kroker, I save 55 dollars and some change!! It's awesome. I love coupons, and I am going to Albertsons tomorrow to get me some free food. I have coupons for a dollar off and they are having some crazy dollar sales!! I am going to stock up!!
I only shop what's on sale and I always cary coupons. I need to make a coupon holder. My sister told me about one made out of baseball card holders. There are tones of demos on You Tube for Coupon Organizers. It's crazy how much you can save.
And I am a newbie too!! Laura is awesome at it. SHe is a CVS shopping fool!!
Wow, that's awesome! I need to figure out all the tricks too.
Mandy, the trick is to wait for sales, coupon clip like mad and buy it when you get it for cheap. I'm not sure if Smith's does this, but our Kroger here triples manufacturers coupons 35 cents or less and doubles 50 cents or less so a little 25 cents coupon becomes 75 cents off and when an item is on sale or part of one of those "buy 10 of this list of items and get back $5 or $3 or whatever" then you get it for so cheap. Get the Sunday paper for coupons, print some online (coupons.com and google e savers), and wait till its on a good sale, uses coupons and you are set! Some good sites to learn from are moneysavingmom.com, thethriftymama.com, and southernsavers.com for scenarios. (Most stores let you use one store coupon and one manufacturers coupon along with the item being on sale.)
Thanks for the hot lead, Andrea..I may have to hit Albertsons too. Ooo..this is addictive! I couldnt quite get it together this week to do CVS though. The one time I tried a couple of weeks ago, they had NOTHING on sale left in stock and so I had to figure the best buying strategies on the spot with a toddler in tow. I did start one of the baseball card holders though and I LOVE it. Even if I never use the coupons in it, it makes me feel like an real live organized person..lol
Lynetta, it takes time to figure it all out, but I'm hopeful that I can be a master coupon clipping queen soon. :-) Laura said it took her forever in the beginning but not so much any more.
ok dude there is this thing called "grocery game" where it finds all the good deals for you! Like to the point where you can get stuff for FREE! My sister in law introduced me to it and she says there has been several times where the stores actually OWE HER MONEY with all the deals and coupons she gets from Grocery Game!
Hey so I I am so behind on all your news! Have you found out what you are having yet?
Hey Jen! How are ya? I tried the grocery game for a bit and I just never used it so I canceled it. I'm sure it could save me lots. I figure I'll just do it on my own this way and grocery game won't cut into my profits! :-)
I HAVEN'T posted what I'm having yet, have I? I'll go do that right now. BTW, come to playgroup! It's at Laura's this week!
